PRESENTS

The conversations at the National Indigenous Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Conference reinforced the importance of early intervention, culturally safe care, and strengthening social and emotional wellbeing across communities.

Building on these conversations, the Indigenous Youth Mental Health & Wellbeing Forum (IYMH) brings a dedicated focus to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people. The forum creates a space to share practical, community-led approaches, centring cultural strength, early intervention, and youth-centred models of care. Hosted in partnership with Headspace National, it brings together practitioners, policymakers, educators, and community leaders to explore what’s working and where more needs to be done.

This year, the forum will take place from
16–18 September 2026 in Brisbane, continuing the momentum with a strong focus on improving social and emotional wellbeing outcomes for young people.
